The Story - Motivation Behind This Design

In the previous tutorial, I used a long shadow to create a 3D effect for the text. The result was very impressive and nice. This time, I decided to create a full 3D text, which would look more realistic. As you know, I prefer calligraphy text over other types of text. So, for this tutorial, I chose a calligraphy font for the 3D text. I also decided to use colors that would complement each other. At first, I was not sure what colors to use for the text and background. I looked at some color-matching samples on Google and found a good combination of orange and yellow. I started by using orange for the background and yellow for the text. However, the text did not look as good as I had hoped. I then changed the text color to white. This made the text look much better and more contrasted. I also added an outer stroke line in dark orange. This made the text look even better.

I thought that the text could look even more 3D, so I tried a few different effects. I first tried using the blending option, but this made the text look too 3D. I could not even read what was written. I then tried using the detail extractor, but this did not work either. Finally, I decided to add a shadow effect to the text. This made the text look much better. I was happy with the result, so I saved the file and exported it.

While I acknowledge that this 3D text may not have reached the level of excellence I had envisioned, I still chose to upload it to my website and YouTube channel. After all, there will always be individuals eagerly seeking this particular style of 3D text. Rest assured, in my next endeavor, I will prioritize creating the best and most exceptional text possible. If I were to cast my own vote, I would admit that the previous premium 3D text outshines this particular creation.

How to edit Calligraphy PSD Template

The following steps guide you to replace your preferred text in this template:

1. After downloading the Calligraphy 3D Text template, extract the downloaded file using any extractor tool.

2. Inside this extracted folder, Locate the font folder and unzip it by Right-clicking on the font folder and selecting "Extract All." Once extracted, proceed to install the font.

3. Open the file named "Bold 3D Text Effect.PSD."

4. Now in Photoshop, head over to layers sections and double-click on the text that says "Your text here" or right-click on it and choose "Edit Content." This will open a window in Adobe Photoshop software.

5. In the newly opened window, you can easily replace the existing text with your own text by simply typing in your desired text.

6. When you're done replacing the text, save this file by going to the top left corner of Photoshop. When saving, do not rename the file. Save or replace it with the default name. As you can see in the picture, it is asking me to replace the file because there is already a file with the same name, and we need to replace it.

7. Wait for Photoshop to finish updating the changes you have made. Then, go back to the previous window where you started (where you opened this template).
