Want to generate color palettes or copy HEX codes from an Image?

Shinesfox has now introduced the Advanced Image Color Palette Generator, which is 100% free. It lets you extract color palettes or copy HEX codes by uploading any image. You can grab and drag a specific color circle on the image or even move the slider to move the color circles to random positions. Just like our AI-powered tool, it also has many features such as contrast ratio evaluation, the number of color swatches on color palette, preview in live UI, multiple export options, and even a Gradient Generator Studio for generating gradient backgrounds.

More Tools

Shinesfox AI Color Palette Generator is better because it doesn't just generate palettes from text prompts but uses two separate AI Engines for System designs and User query focus. It also doesn't just create color palettes but let's you evaluate their quality with a smart score system and color role indicators like BG, TEXT, PRIMARY, ACCENT, or ACTION. It also lets you customize each swatch to improve overall quality and user's needs. Moreover, you can lock or unlock any color swatch you like and then regenerate, edit, or even swap with other colors. Finally preview your finalized color palette in the live UI dashboard with smart contrasting and then export in CSS, Tailwind, SCSS, ASE, PDF, image, and more. You can also save up to 10 palettes inside the tool while working on others for more multitasking and complex design workflows.

How to use (9 quick steps)

  1. Start by typing a prompt that describes the color and style you want (e.g., "Mint Fresh Green poster"). Here, our AI Engine #1 (Master UI/UX Architect) works, which focuses on building high-fidelity, WCAG-compliant design systems that follow strict professional rules. Next, choose the number of color palettes to be generated from 1 to 4.
  2. Hover over any swatch to copy its HEX code and to see its specific job like BG, TEXT, PRIMARY, or ACTION. This helps you know how each color should be used in your project.
  3. See real-time metrics for Contrast, Harmony, Distinction, and Accessibility on every palette. These scores tell you if your design is ready for production use and easy for everyone to read.
  4. Click Preview to see this color scheme applied in a live UI demo. The preview uses your color roles to show you exactly how the final interface will look.
  5. Click the lock icon on any color you like. This is important because it protects that color from being changed by AI regeneration, manual edits, or drag-and-drop swapping.
  6. If you want to explore more options, click the Regenerate button to trigger AI Engine #2 (User Query Focused). This engine ignores fixed system rules and focuses completely on the emotion of your prompt and generated color palette title. It will only change your unlocked colors.
  7. You can grab any unlocked swatch and change it with its neighboring colors. The color roles stay the same, but the actual colors swap. Your quality scores will update accordingly as you move them based on color roles.
  8. Click the edit icon on any unlocked swatch to adjust its brightness, opacity, or pick a new color which you like, when saved the quality scores updates automatically.
  9. Finally, copy or export palettes in CSS, JSON, JS, SVG, HTML, Tailwind CSS, SCSS, ASE (Adobe), PDF, or image.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I generate a color palette from a text prompt?

With the free Shinesfox AI color palette generator, you can create 1 to 4 matching color palettes simply by describing the scene, style, design or paste HEX code you like. Our primary AI Engine will do its job. If you aren't completely satisfied with the results, just click the Regenerate button to use our secondary AI Engine, which is fine-tuned to focus even closer on your specific prompt.

Can AI help me find matching colors for a specific aesthetic or mood?

Yes, our AI engines are built to understand the exact "vibe" or scene you’re describing. If the first try isn't quite right, just hit Regenerate to use AI Engine #2. It focuses on your words and skips standard design rules to give you something unique that matches your prompt exactly.

How many colors are in each AI-generated palette?

Each palette gives you 5 colors that are ready to go. We’ve even given them specific "roles" such as background, text, primary, accent, and action colors—so you don't have to guess where they should go in your design.

How do I reset or clear inputs and saved colour palettes?

To quickly get rid of all saved palettes click the Clear button. To start over or reset the inputs, refresh the page or just type a new prompt to replace the old one.

Can I edit or change a colour in my palette?

Yes! Click the edit icon on any unlocked swatch to adjust its brightness, opacity, or pick a completely new colour. Once you save, the quality scores update automatically. Just make sure the swatch is not locked before editing.

What is colour locking and how does it work?

Click the lock icon on any swatch to protect it. A locked colour will not be changed by AI regeneration, manual editing, or drag-and-drop swapping. It stays exactly as it is until you unlock it yourself.

What is the difference between AI Engine #1 and AI Engine #2?

AI Engine #1 runs on your first prompt. It acts as a Master UI/UX Architect and follows strict professional rules to build WCAG-compliant design systems. AI Engine #2 is triggered when you click Regenerate. It skips the rigid rules and focuses completely on the vibe and emotion of your prompt. It will only update your unlocked colours, so your locked ones stay safe.

What are the Quality Scores and what do they mean?

Every palette gets scored on four things: Contrast, Harmony, Distinction, and Accessibility. These scores are based on your colour roles and tell you if your palette is ready for real production use and easy for everyone to read.

Which export formats are supported?

You can export your palette in CSS, JSON, JS, SVG, HTML, Tailwind CSS, SCSS, ASE (Adobe), PDF, and Image. Whether you are a developer or a designer, there is a format ready for your workflow.

Does the preview handle contrast and readability?

Yes. The Live UI Preview uses your colour roles to apply each colour in the right place on the dashboard. Text colours auto-adjust based on luminance so everything stays readable on your chosen backgrounds.
